IDF Casualties Averted, But Looming Conflict Remains

Hezbollah is now the tip of the spear for Iran and its proxies across the Middle East, and that tip is piercing the borders of Israel. Yesterday's cross-border attack from Lebanon against an Israeli base is just the latest example of this stark reality. Thankfully, the Israeli military (IDF) quickly defused the attack by pretending to evacuate wounded Israeli "soldiers" from the base - which were actually mannequins - allowing Hezbollah to claim a propaganda victory after their vow to avenge several Hezbollah operatives who were killed in an Israeli strike last week.

Although this most recent attack was thwarted by a swift Israeli response and some creative stagecraft, it is undoubtedly just a harbinger of greater conflict to come. If the attack had been successful in causing Israeli casualties, an IDF source reports that the Israeli Air Force was prepared to inflict massive damage on Hezbollah's rocket arsenal across Southern Lebanon. That large arsenal and Hezbollah's developing missile technology constitute the single-greatest existential threat to the Jewish people anywhere in the world. Iran continues to work closely with Hezbollah inside Syria and Lebanon, dedicating top military and financial resources to the development of Hezbollah's capacity to inflict significant death and destruction on Israeli population centers in a matter of hours. The Israeli Prime Minister, his cabinet, and the IDF have meanwhile drawn a "red line" regarding Hezbollah's attainment of precision-guidance missile technology, similar to their red-line refusal to allow Iran to attain a nuclear weapon.

As Iran and Hezbollah promise to cross these red lines, and as the number of airstrikes and skirmishes continue to increase in number and scope, we can plainly see that a regional conflict between Iran and its proxies against Israel and its allies is not a matter of "if," but of "when" and "how." Israel is reportedly in talks with the Trump Administration for aid in the event of a large conflagration. It is during this time that we renew our trust in the One who numbers even the hairs of our heads, and who does not allow even a sparrow to fall apart from His knowledge. We appeal to Him for divine favor, we labor in His Land, and we serve among His people. Join with us.
